I just got back to HQ (back to reality) from a whirlwind trip attending #NYFW in New York.
Each year, New York Fashion Week is held in February and September. It’s when international fashion designers show their latest collections to buyers, the press, and the general public. It’s a big affair with lots of international coverage. It lasts from September 6th to 14th. I was lucky enough to attend, and I had SUCH a blast! I came home feeling incredibly inspired, with a head chockfull of ideas that I can’t wait to share with the team.
Here’s a look at my three fun-filled, crazy days in the big apple 🍎
At 11 am, I landed in NYC & made my way to Brooklyn, to the apartment I was staying in.
I quickly changed into a cute #OOTD: Ardene snap button joggers
Ardene checkered top
I walked to Homecoming for an iced matcha latte.
It’s a really cute spot covered in flowers, cacti & tons of other plants.
After that, I took the subway to Nolita and met up with a friend at Pietro Nolita.
This totally pink spot is one of the most Insta-worthy restos in NYC.
How cute is my backpack though? A clear bag is a huge plus when you’re always looking for your subway pass, haha.
Then it was time for the shows. The first one I saw was Vivienne Hu show at Spring Studios.
Lindsay Lohan’s mom, Dina, was in the front row so of course, I took a pic with her!
I had some time to kill before The Blonds show at 9 pm, so I shot some street style just outside the venue.
So. Many. Babes!
Then it was time for the runway show. The Disney Villains x The Blonds fashion show was… how do I put this? SO next level. The visuals & music were amazing; it was a full-on theatrical production, unlike any fashion show I’ve ever seen. There was Voguing, breakdancing, cheering, laughing; everyone was having a blast.
Think Ursula, Cruella de Vil, and Maleficent, but ultra-glam.
I was freaking out over Paris’ little pup! He was way too cute.
Patrick Starrr slayed the runway dressed as Ursula. The crowd literally erupted in screams and cheers, myself included!
The show started late and ended late. It was such a wild ride… I was pretty wiped out after, so I scarfed down some Shake Shack and headed home.
I woke up, grabbed a coffee, and took a cab back to Spring Studios for the Taoray Wang show.
The collection was stunning; the suits were incredible, and the designer was gifted with tailoring and fits. And those belts? I want them all! 😍
Here are my #OOTD deets: Kendall & Kylie tailored plaid blazer
vintage neon t-shirt with a vintage slip dress on top
Ardene chunky sneakers (yes, I live in these)
Ardene neon scrunchie
These girls were sitting around me during the show.. couldn’t help but snap some photos of their style.
ps her bag said ‘stressed. but well dressed’ and we were all feeling that way!
After that, I headed to Ruby’s cafe in Soho. I needed fuel for the rest of the day, and this was the perfect healthy meal.
I kinda, sorta balanced that out by going to Little Cupcake Bakeshop for a little treat, haha.
I walked around Chinatown & Little Italy, got some takeout and walked home.
I made my way to the Christopher Lowman presentation at the James Hotel in Soho. The collection was inspired by the Olympics; think colour blocking and sporty vibes.
After that, I hit up Cha Cha Matcha in Nolita. I got a matcha latte & matcha soft serve. Cause #treatyoself.
Later that afternoon, I went to the airport to catch my flight back to Montreal. It was such a fun and inspiring trip, one I will never forget.
Besides the incredible clothes and production of the whole event, the most valuable thing was meeting all of the amazing men & women outside of the shows.
Until next year NYC.. you’re the best!
