This may be my most elevated baking moment… ever. Behold, almond lemon zest holiday biscottis. So yum.
Make these for your friends & fam. Everyone loves a coffee-accessory, am I right?
This recipe makes 4 dozen biscotti.
½ cup softened butter
1 ¼ cups white sugar
3 large eggs
1 tbsp. grated lemon zest
1 tsp. almond extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 ½ tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
1 cup chopped unblanched almonds

1.Preheat your oven to 325 degrees and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a bowl, mix the butter & sugar. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, until it’s all mixed together. Add in lemon zest and almond extract.
In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt – stir this into the butter mixture until it’s all mixed. Stir in the chopped almonds.
2.Now that you’ve made your dough, lay it out on a counter that’s lightly covered in flour. Put a bit of flour on your hands, and shape the dough into a ball. Now, divide it into two pieces.
3.Shape each piece into a log shape, about 14 inches long. Place them 3 inches apart on a baking sheet, covered with parchment paper.
Then, flatten them to about 2 inches in width with a slightly rounded top.
4.Bake for 25 minutes! Let them cool on baking sheet for 10 minutes. This is the first of two rounds of baking. Biscottis are some tough cookies, y’know.
5.Transfer them to a cutting board and with a serrated knife, cut on a slight diagonal into ½ inch slices. Arrange the slices upright 1 inch apart on a baking sheet.
6. Bake for 15 minutes. While this is going down, melt the dark chocolate in a big cup or glass bowl. Do this in the microwave, for 15-second intervals. Be careful not to burn it, and make sure to keep stirring.
7.Take them out of the oven, and let cool. After 10-15 minutes, dip the ends in the melted chocolate.
Then dip them in the sprinkles.
8.Place them bake on the cookie sheet, and let them cool in the fridge.
