Last weekend, I called all my friends (so.. 2 people) and asked them to hang out. We were all dumbfounded by the fact that we didn’t know what to do, or even where to meet. Making plans in the summer is a breeze since you can do literally anything (or literally nothing) outside and be completely content. The fall is a little trickier, so I did some digging and came up with 5 things that are perfect for fall hangouts.
Round up your squad and go apple picking! Tell everyone to wear plaid or a Canadian tuxedo because trust me, you’ll want the photo opp. Depending on the orchard, you can likely bring a picnic with you and maybe even your pet.
HURRY, soon it’ll be too cold out!
Pumpkin patch kids
No fall is complete without a trip to the local pumpkin patch. Many even offer kitschy little things like hayrides and corn mazes. It sounds childish but when you’re with your homies it’ll be fun and nostalgic!
Peep the foliage
During the fall, it’s so important to get outside. We have to face it, winter is creeping in on us and could blow its way into our lives any day. Take advantage of fall’s warm sun. In Montreal, the hotspots are Mount Royal Park, Parc Jean-Drapeau, Angrignon Park, and the Botanical Garden.
Bake a pie
Make grandma proud, and everyone around you happy while you’re at it. Pie = happiness. A couple YouTube tutorials for recipes and you’ll be good to go.
Embrace pumpkin spice erythang
People that hate on pumpkin spice lattes have never had one. It’s the perfect fall drink slash dessert. Instead of heading to a Starbucks, find out which local coffee shop makes their own pumpkin spice latte. I tried a bunch in Montreal, and these were my faves – Pikolo, Tommy, Tunnel Espresso Bar, Cafellini, and Café Névé. Yes I’ve had quite a few, so what!
