Don’t let fear or superstitions hold you back! Many think this day brings back luck, but modern girls think it’s a cool way to spend time with friends. The cultural mythology behind the 13th is spooky and quirky, so why not make it fun?
Have a horror movie marathon
Get the squad together and watch Halloween, The Exorcist, Scream, The Blair Witch Project, and Chucky, just to name a few of the cult classics. There’s something so much scarier about old horror movies… cuddle up and have a blanket ready just in case something too scary for your precious little eyes.
Go on a ghost tour
In Montreal, there are 3-4 neighborhoods that have their own paranormal history and ghost tours are offered for each one. Actors take you on a ghost-themed walking tour at night. Check out Montreal’s tours, or find one in your city!
Do something sweet
Write your bestie a note… how about a list of 13 things you love about them? Dawwwh.
Adopt a black cat
Make a feline’s dreams come true, and head to the local shelter to adopt a kitty. If that’s way too much of a commitment, call the shelter and see if you can stop by with some treats. The answer is always yes!
Walk through or take a drive through a graveyard
Okay maybe this one is easier said than done, but I did it last year and it was wonderfully spooky. Again, you’re gunna need your squad with you – round up the troops! Visiting a graveyard doesn’t have to be morbid or depressing, if you have your girls with you and it’s that magical time ~the 13th~ something mystical might happen.
Doing something spooky? Tell us in the comments!
Going to go see the movie premiere of happy death day on this beautiful Friday the 13th!
