Believe it or not, sometimes I opt for a good ol’ fashioned book over binge-watching a Netflix series. Here are 5 books I’m reading this month. They range from very honest and raw stories to laugh out loud candid tales, and they are all written by amazing, strong women!

You Don’t Have to Like Me by Alida Nugent

This is a collection of essays (hilarious ones) that explores what feminism is through topics we can all relate to, ranging from friendship to food. Nugent is really funny and honest; she shares valuable nuggets of feminist wisdom through her storytelling.

Bossypants by Tina Fey

Powerful AND hilarious, a killer combo. Tina writes about the trials and tribulations of her childhood and her rise to fame. You will legit laugh out loud.

Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur

This book could be seen as a heavy piece. The poetry is raw and compelling. It’s divided into four parts – The Hurting, The Loving, The Breaking, and The Healing. Kaur conveys very deep emotion with minimal words and it’s fascinating.

The Sun and her Flowers by Rupi Kaur

This book is pretty perfect for anyone who has recently been through a break-up. Kaur plays with symbols and paradox; the sunflowers represent joy while the writing gets into very sad themes. She reminds us there is always light after darkness.

Just the Essentials: How Essential Oils Can Heal Your Skin, Improve Your Health, and Detox Your Life by Adina Grigore

Grigore is the owner & founder of the cult favourite natural skincare line SW Basics. You’ve probs noticed that the biggest beauty trend of 2017 & this year is natural oils and organic products. This book is a great guide to living an all-natural lifestyle using essential oils. Oils are powerful, healing, healthy and they smell pretty great.
