Everybody’s after that perfect glowing summer skin, but sometimes the struggle is real. While there are many reasons your skin might be in breakout mode, there’s something you use every day that might be the culprit: your smartphone.
Thankfully, there’s a solution to (almost) every problem:
EMBRACE ANTIBACTERIAL SPRAY
A good antibacterial wipe-down will clean the unwanted grime – which could be causing breakouts – off your phone.
Here’s what we know about it:
Use only a soft, lint-free cloth. Don’t use towels, paper towels, or items that might cause damage.
Unplug your phone from any power outlets first.
Keep liquids far, far away. Really, don’t wet your phone.
Don’t use aerosol sprays, solvents, or abrasive chemicals.
Don’t spray cleaners directly onto your phone.
The Fix: Spray antibacterial stuff onto a soft, lint-free cloth or use a damp antibacterial wipe. Both are great for cleaning your phone without water-damaging it!
WASH SCRUB YO’ FACE
Think about it… You touch so many things during the day: the bus or metro, your notebooks, food, doorknobs, etc. And then you text away on your phone. And then… you put your phone to your face. Ewwwww.
The Fix: Get yourself a good face wash or scrub + get into the habit of cleaning your skin every night. Your skin will thank you.
LOWER THAT BLUE LIGHT
Some emerging research says that blue light from your phone can cause your skin to age prematurely (*silently freaking out*). Whether or not the studies are right, one thing is for sure: blue light keeps you up at night. And lack of sleep definitely has a negative effect on your skin.
The Fix: If your phone has a blue light filter, such as night-shift on iPhone, turn it on whenever you can. It’s not good for editing your pics (cause the light turns orange), but it’s great for every other thing.
